Design Week Experience

 

The Design Week of Milano is most important and anticipated events in the Design Industry. The city will be transformed and becomes the backdrop to a unique and breathtaking show where Design is the undisputed star. The whole city will host thousands of events related to Design, mostly free, and the most important Design Fair, Salone Del Mobile will be held during this week in Milano. 

Every year HFFA organizes a one week  workshop that  gives students the opportunity to experience the atmosphere and excitement at some of the most important events, guided visits of Fuori Salone and the Salone del Mobile together with the professors, visiting the museums and the Foundations related to the Design.

 

It is the perfect opportunity to learn about and experience a pivotal event in the Design world.

 

 

  • Introduction to Italian Design: The masters, the history and the Italian design system of Interior Design, Industrial Design and Exhibition Design.
  • Visit to ADI (Italian Design Association, organizer of the Golden Compass Award).
  • Interior and Exterior Design. Furniture Design and Soft Quality. Companies Leaders in Lifestyle.
  • Visit to Italian furniture and lighting company leaders in Milan City Center.
  • Lesson and visit to Franco Albini Foundation
  • Visit to Salone Satellite of the Salone del Mobile.
  • Salone del Mobile: Rho Fiera Milano.
  • Lesson and visit to Foundation Achille Castiglioni: we will visit the studio of one of the most authoritative Italian designer and the lesson will be together of watching and commenting on its interior plans and furniture design.
  • Visit to Fuorisalone: Superstudio more.

On presentation of the enrolment application, account will be taken of previous educational and professional qualifications in the disciplinary area of the chosen course. Candidates will be informed regarding their application within 5 days of receipt.

To access the workshops you must submit the following documents:

  • Admission Form
  • Photocopy of the passport or ID card
  • Certificate of previously acquired academic qualifications
  • Proof of payment of the participation fee
  • 2 passport-size photos

The number of students admitted to the courses is limited and enrollment will be possible until all positions are filled.

ATTENDANCE

1 week   (20 hours) or 2 weekends (5 hours a day)
2 weeks (40 hours) or 4 weekends (5 hours a day)


The courses are held throughout the year.

LANGUAGE OF STUDY

Classes will be held in Italian with simultaneous translation into English or entirely in English.

Residence Permits are indispensible for people living in Italy, whether they are attending school or planning to work in Italy. Residence permits for students can be converted into work-related residence permits, and can form the basis for requesting Italian citizenship after having been a resident in Italy for a number of years.

Students from EU member states, from Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein who intend to stay in Italy for more than 90 days must register at the local "anagrafe" offices of where they are staying.

Foreign students studying in Italy can open a current account at any bank or post office. Using a current account to transfer money from abroad costs much less than with Money Transfer Agencies.

Fashion Illustrator

Fashion Illustrator

 

Adobe Illustrator is a vector graphics editor that allows users to create vector images through geometric shapes or tracing. Being familiar with this software is considered an essential prerequisite for working successfully in the fashion industry.


The Fashion Illustrator workshop provides students with practical and specific skills to work with Adobe Illustrator within a Fashion Design context, giving students in depth knowledge of the commands and functions of this program through intensive and ongoing lab work.
