Jil Sander leaves Jil Sander

The company was founded in 1975 by the homonymous stylist. In 1999 the brand was taken over by Prada and Jil Sander has left the company (first time) shortly after a conflict arose with the CEO Patrizio Bertelli. In 2003, she returned to the helm of the company and then leave again (second time) the following year. In February 2006 Change Capital Partners, based in London, took over the brand from Prada, who then sold in 2008 to 167 million euro to the group Onward.
"On behalf of the group I want to thank Jil Sander for his outstanding contribution to the brand during this period. Its exceptional design and its creative leadership were instrumental in strengthening the brand and place it in a context of further growth, "said Alessandro Cremonesi, CEO of Jil Sander.
