Toledano (Dior): True Luxury is the "Made in Italy" Kind.
“The secret to Christian Dior’s worldwide success? Ultimate luxury is found in quality-quality goods,” said Sidney Toledano, president and CEO of Christian Dior at the opening of the new Dior store in in Via Tornabuoni in Florence, highlighting the superior quality of Made in Italy products and the company’s production plants in Veneto and Tuscany.
Dior, as reported today by Qn, recently opened a factory in Scandicci (Florence) for the production of leather goods and bags, and will soon open a second establishment in the Brenta region.
“We produce in Italy, because family traditions and craftsmanship are preserved over time,” Toledano pointed out. “In the nineties I told Arnault that a Lady Dior bag could only be manufactured in Florence. In other words, beautiful things can only be made in Italy,” Toledano concluded, “and its strength lies in small businesses.”
Dior, which is part of luxury group LVMH, operates 160 boutiques around the world and during January- March 2014 posted revenues amounting to 357 million euro, an increase of 13%.
